THE GAY DIVORCEE

  • 435 W 22nd St New York, New York (map)

A special work in progress showing of the Gay Divorce – a new performance text / terrific lil’ number from Cecilia Corrigan.

This is the first ever public showing of this Thing: a true journey to the center of the tears of a clown.

A secret key. A freaky snake. A cool guy. A world of tears. A lonely Xenomorph. A bruise. A ripped-up gift.

In other words, the show throws the hyperpop voice of a comic raconteur (me) into a haunted house of end-stage capitalist nightmares, bitcrunching together classic horror movie tropes, the Barbie-doll playhouse rituals of a weird third-grade girl, the legal documents from Sailor Moon’s second divorce, and “some jokes.”

Anyway blah blah blah. If you’re invited to this you’re probably my friend or at least someone I hope might be friendly to my purposes. So to be honest, I don’t really know what will happen. But I promise you will be entertained! Or! Embarrassed for me!

So come on, join my MLM!!

Just kidding: join me for Many Laughs and Moments on April 24.
